Morning, around 8:30. I’m riding the 6G express bus down Olandų Street (Hollandstraat) when, lightly stuck in traffic, I notice graffiti on the side of a building: “You are never alone, because you always have yourself.”

Next to the words sits a “lost – or perhaps self-found – soul,” slowly savoring a glass of red wine. Beside her are many bags. Most likely filled with clothes, I think to myself. She is wrapped in colors and style, while my own morning feels worthy of a documentary fashion snapshot from the book Bored in Vilnius. In my headphones, Derek Fein’s song “Sun” is playing. And then, in passing, a thought flashes through my mind: “What if this is me, many years from now, disappointed in men and the fashion world? Ha, ha…”

A couple of weeks later, a grinning frog has been painted over the philosophical message, the stylish lady and her bags are nowhere to be seen in the mornings, and the city hums, stuck in traffic. My headphones stayed at home.

Everything is so temporary, and everything changes so fast.

But you know what?

“You are never alone, because you always have yourself.”

And that is the answer to all your inner demons and unanswered questions. And you can find the strength within yourself to change – and to keep changing. To grow. To wake up and continue a new life, or to begin again from the start. Life is a beautiful journey through yourself, back to yourself. Share yourself through the way you see this world, because it is distinctive, unique, and it inspires others.

A new project is stirring in my mind. Somewhere I heard that until forty, you are researching, and after that you finally begin to live. You can clearly name who you are, where you are, and how you are. Fewer questions, more answers – so we keep moving.

I truly want to work with menswear. I am truly surrounded by interesting, inspiring, and loved people. And the “Pako Lorente” award of the year, hidden under the word CURIOSITY, gently nudges me to keep going.

Ah, what a comforting truth –

“You are never alone, because you always have yourself.”
